Michael Kaine

Michael is the National Secretary of the Transport Workers Union. In this role Michael has overarching responsibility for enterprise bargaining on behalf of the organisation with numerous employers and industry peak bodies and in addition manages the organisation’s finance, research and policy units.

Michael is the National Secretary of the Transport Workers Union. In this role Michael has overarching responsibility for enterprise bargaining on behalf of the organisation with numerous employers and industry peak bodies and in addition manages the organisation’s finance, research and policy units.

With a legal background Michael has previously worked for the Crown Solicitor’s Office with a focus being on contract law, industrial law and litigation. He has served as an Alternate Director of an Industry Superannuation Fund including being a member of the fund’s investment committee. Michael has been a Director of the Transport Education Audit Health Compliance Organisation a not for profit company dedicated to providing research, health and skills initiatives to the industry.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales. He has completed the AICD Company Director’s course.
