    Please note that the Skill Set title has been changed from Biosecurity Public Information Officer to Biosecurity Response Public Information Management. This was agreed by the TAC as it reflects the Units of Competency making up the Skill Set.

    Drafting Finalised

    The TAC has completed development work on the draft materials, which will now go through an independent edit and quality assurance review.

    The draft materials are expected to be submitted to the AISC by July 2019 for their consideration and endorsement at the next available meeting. Final drafts will be made available then.

    The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has commissioned a project to develop a new Skill Set for the PUA Public Safety Training Package. The project will address the need for a Public Information Officer within a biosecurity operational response.

    The Public Safety Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project, which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards (AIS) in consultation with industry stakeholders. A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will be formed for this project.

    Regular updates will be posted on this page throughout the life of the project.
