    Case for Endorsement Companion Volume Implementation Guide Qualifications Skill Sets Units of Competency

    The Case for Endorsement is scheduled to be submitted to the AISC in July 2019.

    Drafting finalised

    The TAC has completed development work on the draft materials, which will now go through an independent edit and quality assurance review.

    The draft materials are expected to be submitted to the AISC by 31 July 2019 for their consideration and endorsement at the next available meeting. Final drafts will be made available then.

    INDUSTRY SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS NEEDED

    The Corrections IRC is forming a TAC for this project, seeking subject matter experts with relevant skills and experience in the corrections industry.

    This project will focus on reviewing an existing qualification and developing a new Skill Set, with the aim of developing the skills of Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Officers.

    Background

    The Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) has commissioned a project to revise an existing qualification in the CSC Correctional Services Training Package. The project will develop industry skills for individuals to perform the role of an Electronic Monitoring and Surveillance Officer as directed by state and territory Corrective Services Acts.

    The project will include:

    • Review of 1 existing qualification
    • Development of 1 new Skill Set

    The Corrections Industry Reference Committee (IRC) will have oversight of this project, which will be facilitated by Australian Industry Standards (AIS) in consultation with industry stakeholders. A Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) will be formed for this project.
